The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore was equally focusing on character building and personality development of students to make them useful citizens as well as competent veterinarians. This was stated by vice-chancellor, Professor Dr Manzoor Ahmad while addressing on the occasion of certificate distribution among students who excelled in various extracurricular activities including debate, drama, Na'at Qirat contests in the Punjab Student Convention.
The VC said that co-curricular activities created a sense for competition, tolerance, patience and an urge to excel in life. He emphasised on student-teacher liaison and said the university had a sound tutorial system for the purpose.
He urged the tutors to focus on social grooming of students in the tutorial meetings and solve their education-related problems. He asked the teachers to strictly implement the academic disciple and act as mentors for students.
Senior Tutor, Professor Dr Abdullah and director Students Affairs, Dr Mohammad Arif Khan also spoke on the occasion.
Later, certificates were distributed among the students.
