Announcing more incentives for employees, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited has assured the workers that privatisation of the company is in best interest of country, company, employees and customers. Sources from the PTCL told this scribe that the decision of the privatisation has been taken in the better interest of employees, customers and the company. The incentive's package will be effective for cadres BPS-1 to BPS-15, who have worked for over 20 years. The PTCL administration is discussing the revision of pay scales and medical as well as leave incentives with different employees unions.
Meanwhile, according to incentives announced job will be offered to one family member of any PTCL employee who had died.
In order to pace up the promotion process, the PTCL authorities have tendered powers to General Mangers all over the country to make promotions from BPS-1 to BPS 15 at their own discretion and they don't have to contact the Headquarters. The PTCL administration has made it clear that process of privatisation is in accordance with international standards and is need of the hour.
But before the bidding of largest state entity, the company has also tried to safeguard the interests of the company workers and in this regard negotiations with employees unions are underway. The matter of privatisation is aimed at providing maximum incentives to employees and they should actively participate in this process for their own interest, the PTCL authorities opined.
The sources said that there were some vested interests who are trying to sabotage the process, which the PTCL authorities could not tolerate. The PTCL have also made an apology to the customers for the inconvenience they had suffered due to the broken optic fibre line from various key locations in the capital.
The sources lamented that the miscreants were behind this act and said those responsible will not be spared at any cost. The PTCL staff was working day and night to repair the damaged optic fibre, they added. It merits mentioning here that the PTCL president Junaid Khan few days back assured the company workers that their interests would be fully ensured even after the privatisation of the company.
