The Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) said on Monday it committed to sell 700 tonnes of cotton in the week which ended on May 28. An Alcotexa official said it had committed to sell 50 tonnes of Giza 70, 25 tonnes of Giza 88, 600 tonnes of Giza 86 and 25 tonnes of export type. The new commitments bring Alcotexa's export commitments for the year starting August 14 to 136,029.5 tonnes of cotton, worth $254.15 million, the Alcotexa official said.
