The President of Association of Business Professional and Agriculture Women (ABPAW) Shamim Kazmi has appreciated the allocation of 30 acres of land for women entrepreneur at small industrial estate to be established at Northern Bypass. In a press release issued here on Thursday, she said: "Industrial policy in the province is favourable for the self-employment, especially Minister for Labour, Industries and Commerce Muhammad Adil Siddiqui has been adopting women-friendly attitude toward industrial uplift."
Shamim Kazmi urged agriculture sector to follow the same path. She stated that there was more need to empower rural women, who were deprived of the basic needs.
She urged the government to provide a piece of agriculture land with ownership right to Hari women. Lauding both President Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz for their efforts to uplift the overall economy of the country, she said that they could make further progress by mobilising the agricultural force and utilising the arid land.
"It is pity that rural women don't have approach to basic needs like clean water, medical facilities," she said, adding, "there should be some social security for them like industrial labours."-PR
