The Karachi Port handled 101,745 tonnes of cargo including 89,896 tonnes import and 11,849 tonnes export cargo including 3,917 containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The cargo comprised of 40,846 tonnes dry cargo including 40,170 tonnes general cargo; 676 tonnes cement and 60,899 tonnes oil/Liquid cargo. Four ships namely Hyundai Sprinter, Apl Dalian, Corinthiakos and Thor Traveller sailed out to sea during the report period.
Nine vessels viz Cape Ferro, Lykes Racer, Sagamore, Hyundai Sprinter, YM Fortune, Thor Traveller, Asphalt Merchant, MT Johar and Bunga Melati Dua are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely YM Fortune, Sea Ranger and Cape Ferro expected to sail on Thursday, while six vessels viz Sagamore, CMA CGM Karibu, Bunga Melati Dua, Iran Kurdestan, Astor and Apl Orchid are expected to sail on Friday.
Three vessels viz Chem Rigal, Apl Orchid and Path Finder due to arrive on Thursday, while five ships namely Harmony, Wan Hai-265, Elbe Oldendroff, Global Princess and Wise King are due to arrive on Friday.
The cargo comprised of 19,829 tonnes crude oil 4,522 tonnes seeds; 2,300 tonnes chemicals; 14,197 tonnes iron ore and 19,244 tonnes containerised cargo.
Chemicals carrier Stolt Courage sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more container vessels viz Contship Tamarind and Kuo Hung are expected to sail on the same day.
A total of five vessels viz Al-Isha'a, Poppy, Docomo, Min Noble and Stoikos are currently at the outer anchorage.
