The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal observed protest day on Friday against the assassination of Jamaat-i- Islami leaders Aslam Mujahid, Jamal Tahir and bomb blasts at the shrine of Hazrat Latif Imam Bari, Islamabad and Madinah-tul-Ilm, Karachi at the call of MMA supreme council. At least 1,000 MMA activists, led by Mufti Hidayatullah Pasroori, Rao Zafar Iqbal, Chaudhry Muhammad Latif and Allama Inayatullah Rehmani, staged a protest demonstration at Ghanta Ghar Chowk.
Participants, carrying placards and banners, were chanting slogans against the Sindh government and Muttahida Qaumi Movement leadership, condemned killing of MMA leaders and demanded immediate removal of the provincial Sindh government and imposing ban on MQM.
Later, the protesting activists dispersed peacefully.
