Pakistan reaffirmed on Tuesday that there would be no solution on Kashmir dispute without the consent of Kashmiri people. During talks with visiting leaders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) from Indian occupied Kashmir and other prominent Kashmiri leaders including Mir Waiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik, Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri assured them of Pakistan's unwavering diplomatic, moral and political support to their struggle.
He apprised Kashmiri leaders of the efforts being made by President General Pervez Musharraf to seek a negotiated resolution of the long-standing dispute with India.
Kasuri reaffirmed that status quo was unacceptable to Pakistan and there had to be forward movement so that legitimate aspirations of Kashmiri people could be addressed.
He assured the Kashmiri leaders that Pakistan had entered into a dialogue process with India with the sincere hope that the process would result in a just and lasting solution of Kashmir dispute.
He stressed that no solution would be acceptable to Pakistan unless it was acceptable to the Kashmiris.
Foreign Minister stated that Kashmiri people were the major stakeholders to the dispute and that, therefore, they must be associated with Pakistan-India dialogue process for seeking a peaceful final settlement.
APHC leaders thanked Pakistan government for extending them warm hospitality. They briefed Kasuri about the widespread human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir and commended Islamabad for its diplomatic, moral and political support to their just cause. They also sought Pakistan government's support for their inclusion in Pakistan-India dialogue process.
The APHC leaders delegation crossed the Line of Control (LoC in occupied Kashmir) from occupied Srinagar by bus on Thursday and paid their first visit to Pakistan.
