In order to provide the facility of Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) to over two million population of Orangi Town Karachi, Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister for Information Salahuddin Haider on Wednesday inaugurated a CNIC Registration Office in Orangi Town. Salahuddin Haider in his press briefing said the residents of Orangi Town were facing problems while in getting their NICs and for that, they had to go to distant places like Awami Markaz, which was time consuming besides effecting their businesses and jobs.
In this regard, they also launched 9 to 5 mobile van services for Nadra's CNICs in Orangi Town, he added.
He thanked President General Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussein for taking personal interest in resolving people's problems.
MQM member provincial assembly (MPA) Abdul Quddus said it was the foremost demand of the residents of Orangi Town, and at last they have fulfilled their demand. He said they have decided to establish a permanent Nadra Swift Center in Orangi and the construction work in that regard has been completed and it would start functioning after 15 days. TMO Orangi Town Qamaruddin Sheikh and others were also present on the occasion.
