Pakistan Steel (PS) Chairman Lieutenant General Abdul Qayyum said that the upgradation of outdated systems of the organisation is essential to optimise production and face the challenges of quality and price competitiveness in the new international scenario under the prevailing WTO regime.
He stated this while inaugurating new state-of-the-art digital telephone exchange for Steel Town at Bin Qasim.
According to Pakistan Steel press release, the modern exchange would save Rs 0.15 million per month and recover the cost in two years. The PS chief said that out of 146 projects pertaining to maintenance and renovation of various plants, 26 had already been completed, while work on remaining 120 projects was in progress.
He urged all employees to ensure expeditious completion of all projects initiated to upgrade the system to increase productivity of the plant.-PR
