The government will remove all hurdles in processing and clearance of deep-sea fishing vessels to encourage foreign investment and participation of international companies in the fishing sector. This was decided in a meeting regarding delay in processing and clearance of deep-sea fishing vessels by Maritime Security Agency and Directorate of Naval Intelligence chaired by Minister of State for Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Muhammad Ali Malkani.
The ways and means to solve the problems being faced by the fishing vessels were also discussed in the meeting.
Secretary, Ministry of Food & Agriculture, Muhammad Ismail Qureshi, Fisheries Development Commissioner, DG Marine Fisheries Department and senior representatives of the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Port and Shipping also attended the meeting.
