A squash complex is being constructed in the GC University, Lahore at an area of 11,000 square feet to upgrade and enhance sports facilities in the varsity at the cost of Rs 14 million. GC University, Lahore students have not only produced Nobel Laureates but also sportsmen of extra-ordinary caliber. Its students and athletes have been earning good name for the institution and the country by competing in all the sports disciplines at the national and international level.
It had been a great desire of the sitting vice-chancellor GCU to get a squash court constructed at the campus to provide state-of-the-art sports facilities to the students. The construction of the squash court is in progress, which includes one competition court of international standard and three practice courts, said vice-chancellor GC University here on Wednesday.
He said the squash complex would have international standard glass courts and a spectator gallery.
He added that the varsity provides sports facilities of high standard to its students. He observed that sports owe greater importance in the physical upbringing of the students and GCU is taking practical steps in this regard.
