It is most regrettable to see that no relief has been given to the common man in this budget which is only a business-oriented one for the benefit of the textile exporters and high government salaried personnel. The budget is to please the bureaucrats for obvious reasons. For the senior citizens nothing has been done, no relief at all. So is the case with the EOBI - the raise in pension announced last year has not yet been paid.
The raise in the general pension of Rs 300/- is also very poor as one cannot obtain two times, food and other necessities with Rs 1,000 monthly. The government should not play with its awam but should work on reality.
