Tim Henman opens his 12th Wimbledon campaign undaunted in his conviction that he can triumph, but few are now tipping him to emulate Fred Perry, the last home winner of the men's singles title in 1936. Henman has been seeded an encouraging sixth, three places higher than his world ranking, and he looks to have a reasonably straightforward opening tie against Finland's Jarko Niemenen.
But from then on in the obstacles get tougher and tougher.
The 30-year-old British No 1 could meet grasscourt specialists Wayne Arthurs of Australia or Alexander Popp of Germany in the third round.
