The Karachi Port handled 97,629 tonnes of cargo including 77,845 tonnes import and 19,784 tonnes export cargo including 3,330 containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The cargo comprised of 65,132 tonnes dry cargo including 37,305 tonnes general cargo; 4,223 tonnes rice; 971 tonnes cement; 1,450 tonnes rock phosphate; 6,716 tonnes fertiliser and 32,497 tonnes oil/Liquid cargo.
Six ships namely Hanseduo, Corinthiakos, Izumo, MT Swat, Jo Lind and Helene Selmer sailed out to sea during the report period.
Eight vessels viz Chemstar Brave, Hanseduo, Ever Gather, Lalaxzar, Apl Pusan, Ionian Trader, Starling and Sirorat Naree are currently at the berths.
MV Apl Pusan expected to sail on Wednesday, while two vessels viz Kota Waruna and Lalazar are expected to sail on Thursday.
Five vessels viz Stolt Ayame, YM Star, YM Faha, Bahman 4 and Lami due to arrive on Wednesday, while five ships namely Iran Piroozi, Golden Express, Ariella, Kota Tabah and Sagamore are due to arrive on Thursday.
The cargo comprised of 34,079 tonnes diesel oil; 3,124 tonnes edible oil; 1,210 tonnes chemicals; 4,163 tonnes fertiliser; 2,246 tonnes sugar; 11,027 tonnes iron ore and 22,304 tonnes containerised cargo.
Two container vessels viz Merker Beach and Sealand Independence sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another ship MT Weelek No 7 is expected to sail on Wednesday.
A total of two vessels viz Marine Champion and CMA CGM Kingston are currently at the outer anchorage.
