United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Regional Co-ordinator for South Asian Regional Initiative/Energy Robyn McGuckin called on Punjab University vice-chancellor here on Thursday. She said USAID was focusing on providing technical training and financial assistance in energy and education sectors and added the South Asian Regional Initiative was aimed at accelerating collaboration between organisations and educational institutions of the region.
Vice-chancellor Arshad Mahmood briefed her about the university and its departments and said it was focusing on research and has started regular Ph D Programmes in 33 disciplines. National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) Chairman and Programme Country Co-ordinator Syed Farrukh Hussain also accompanied Robyn McGuckin.
