B A Malik, our one-time ambassador during the BB regime, has counted (in a newspaper a number of ills of the country and at the end given the panacea for redeeming it all by saying,"If General Musharraf cannot unite the nation behind him, he should make way for those who know the job."
He further says," If the ship of the State continues to sail on its present course it is going to sink."
I think the worthy ex-amabassador has BB in mind that Musharraf should make way for. But hasn't he heard the age-old adage,"Aazmooda ra aazmoodan jahal ast" (To try the tried ones is stupidity).
I can assure him that if the 'tried ones' are placed at the helm, the ship is bound to sink.
If we must have a change, let's have some fresh, honest, sincere, selfless, capable and efficient politicians and not the many times tried out corrupt ones or their scions.
