Indo-Pak talks on Wullar Barrage/Tulbul Navigation Project will be held next week with Pakistan delegation to arrive here on Monday (June 27). As part of composite dialogue, talks on the Wullar Barrage will begin on June 28, diplomatic sources said here on Friday.
Pakistan side at the talks will be led by Water and Power Secretary Ashfaq Mehmood while Indian delegation will be headed by Water Resources Secretary, J Harinarayan.
Work to construct barrage in Baramulla district of Indian occupied Kashmir began in 1964 and was halted after Pakistan raised objections describing it as violation of the 1960 Indus Water Treaty.
Indo-Pak talks on friendly exchanges-one of the eight issues of composite dialogue-are scheduled by the end of July, the sources said.
While talks on the terrorism and drug trafficking and economic and commercial co-operation are expected in August, the sources maintained.
