A massive power breakdown for about 18 hours paralysed the life in Thatta, Makli and surrounding areas from Friday evening till Saturday morning. Hot weather mosquito menace and lack of water supply for the twin cities added to miseries of people who passed sleepless night. Children were worse sufferers.
Local HESCO authorities said the breakdown was due to stoppage of electric supply from Kotri. There was no alternative arrangement to provide relief to citizens.
Municipal authorities blamed power failure for stoppage of water supply several citizens complained of damage to their domestic appliances due to frequent power breakdowns and voltage fluctuation.
