A record number of development projects worth billions of rupees were executed in different parts of the Kasur district for the betterment of poor segment of the society.
District Nazim Kasur Rana Imtiaz Ahmad Khan, in an interview with APP here on Sunday, said that in line with the priorities set by the chief minister, special focus was laid on the provision of quality education, Sui gas, better health cover and construction of farm-to-market roads besides completion of the largest water treatment plant of Asia.
Giving detail of the projects completed during the last four years, he said a sum of Rs 230 million was spent on the provision of Sui gas to Kasur, while Pattoki, Phool Nagar and other adjoining areas would also be provided with the facility shortly.
He said, an amount of Rs 150 million was spent on the construction and repair of schools, which include establishment of a mosque at the Kasur Public School.
He added that a sum of Rs 770 million was utilized for the construction of hundreds of farm-to-market roads to facilitate the farmers to bring their products to the city for better profit.
Rana Imtiaz Ahmad Khan said that necessary funds were made available for the introduction of postgraduate classes at girls and boys degrees colleges. He said 1554 male and female teachers and 41 patrwaris were appointed against vacant posts.
The Nazim said shrines of Hazrat Bulleh Shah and Hazrat Baba Kamal Chishti were renovated for providing better facilities to devotees besides the face lifting of Jinnah Hall.
He said farmers were provided modern agricultural equipment at subsidized rates. He said technical college Chunnian has also been equipped with modern laboratory equipment.
