The tobacco companies is going to commence the purchase of flue-cured Virginia tobacco from July 9 in plain areas of NWFP ie Charsadda, Mardan, and Swabi districts. Purchase depots of various tobacco companies shall become fully operative by July 15 in these areas. The decision was taken during the meeting of the Special Committee constituted by the Pakistan Tobacco Board (PTB) to monitor the development of tobacco crop, 2005 and recommend suitable dates for commencement of tobacco purchases 2005 crop.
