England, chasing a revised target of 200 in 33 overs after a previous 102-minute break for bad weather, were 37 for one off six overs when rain stopped play again.
Marcus Trescothick was 11 not out after fellow opener Andrew Strauss was caught at mid-on for 25 off Glenn McGrath by Jason Gillespie.
