Farmgate prices in Ivory Coast's cocoa regions were mixed from June 27 to July 3, Coffee and Cocoa Bourse (BCC) data showed on Tuesday, with buying interest waning in some areas due to the small size of beans on offer. In the western area of Gagnoa, where the average price shed 10 CFA francs per kg to 280 CFA francs ($0.5), one buyer said the fall was due to a lack of decent quality beans.
In the western town of Soubre, prices rose five francs to 295. One buyer for a major US exporter said he was buying at 280-300 CFA per kg provided beans were dry and free from mould.
"Activity has fallen - there are not enough beans coming from the bush, but we won't stop buying," he said.
Below are average farmgate prices in CFA francs per kg as quoted by private buyers, co-operatives and shippers, and published by the BCC. Included are prices paid on delivery at San Pedro and Abidjan ports.
