Syed Masood Alam Rizvi, Chairman of Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) and Secretary, Ministry of Textile Industry attended "China International Cotton Conference-2005" held on June 21 to 24, 2005 in Shanghai. According to a press release issued here on Wednesday the theme of the conference was "Experience and Lessons of China's Cotton Market" reforms since 1999 and the implication of Doha Round Negotiation for the world cotton market".
The conference was attended by an estimated 650 participants. The broad participation in the conference from both China and abroad provided unique opportunity to exchange views on the matters of mutual interest and to explore possibilities for business development and enhance co-operations.
Syed Masood Alam Rizvi also delivered a paper on the subject of "Development of Cotton and Textile Industry in Pakistan" on the inaugural session of the conference.
Some of the participants including China National Cotton Group Corporation expressed their interest in Pakistan cotton.-PR
