Pakistan Bar Council, Punjab Bar Council and Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA), while expressing solidarity with the members of D.G. Khan Bar Association, have urged the government to withdraw its decision regarding constructing 'Bakshi Khana' in the premises of D.G. Khan bar.
Vice-chairman Pakistan Bar Council, Hafiz Abdur Rehman Ansari, Senator Sardar Latif Khosa, member PBC Hamid Khan, members Punjab Bar Council Amir Jalil and Pervaiz Inayat Malik and President and Secretary LHCBA, Fakharunnisa Khokhar and Sheram Sarwar, respectively, while talking to newsmen here on Thursday condemned police baton charge on D.G. Khan bar members. They also demanded strict action against the responsible police officials.
They said that the government and the high judicial officials are intentionally taking such steps only to undermine the lawyers community. They said that earlier the government had demolished the chambers of the lawyers in Lahore and Gujar Khan and now only to disgrace the bar members intends to construct Bakshi Khana in the bar premises. They expressed solidarity with the D.G. Khan bar members and asked the government to accept the demands of the bar members.
