Drums of various chemicals and related items were reduced to ashes when fire broke out in a godown in the Misri Shah area here on Thursday. According to fire brigade officials, eight fire brigade units, three units of Rescue 1122 and two vehicles of Edhi welfare group reached the spot and helped to control the blaze after five hours' hectic efforts.
About 150 drums of chemicals and 100 or so bags of textile starch worth thousands of rupees were gutted, said fire officials.
No loss of life was reported while the cause of the blaze could not be ascertained till the filing of the report.
