US cocoa futures prices closed modestly firmer in rangebound trading Thursday, with market players gearing up for US second-quarter grindings data due before the start of the next session, traders said.
The New York Board of Trade's most-active September cocoa contract gained $5 to settled at $1,409 a tonne, after trading from $1,396 to $1,428. December edged up $4 to $1,442 a tonne, while deferred deliveries advanced $5.
