This refers to the clarification of Nadra HQ, Media wing, Islamabad letter published in the Business Recorder of 10th July, 2005. Apart from the D.O.B. column, there are several other errors being committed by Nadra in issuance of NIC, even from correct manual as well as computerised informatory data of citizens, submitted and available in offices of Nadra.
The mistakes/errors on part of Nadra, 'Not done' by applicants, are causing mental, physical and financial losses to applicant without corrective measures so far.
In my new NIC, the name of my husband was incorrectly shown as my 'Father's name', despite writing it correctly in my application form. When I approached the Nadra office in Karachi for correction the 'Error' done by Nadra (Not by applicant), I was charged the prescribed 'Fee' for correction and issuance of new NIC with the correct information.
The Nadra office in Awami Markaz, Karachi, despite ascertaining their own (Nadra) mistake, refused to condone the prescribed fee and denied its refund while issuing the corrected NIC, which in principle regardless of amount, Nadra must bear.
I saw few other applicants with identical errors roaming around Nadra office, suffering the unwarranted torture of mind, time, and money for a mistake not done by them.
Will the Nadra Headquarter clarify and justify their action of penalising the applicants and causing inconveniences for some mistake or error done by Nadra itself.
