America Movil, Latin America's largest mobile phone operator, said that it completed the acquisition of Paraguay's Hutchison Telecommunications as the Mexico-based firm expanded in the region.
America Movil said it bought 100percent of the company but did not disclose financial terms or details of the transaction. The deal was first announced in May.
Owned by tycoon Carlos Slim, America Movil is in a head-to-head battle with Spain's Telefonica to be the top mobile phone operator in Latin America.
