Purchase of costly vehicles for E&T department banned

Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister for Excise & Taxation (E&T), M.A Jalil has embargoed the purchase of costly and luxurious vehicles for the department for which the funds were already earmarked in the budget 2005-06.
"The department does not need luxury vehicles like Toyota cars and Pajero jeeps. Instead of it, we should buy vehicles that might help improve the performance of the department," he said in an order issued to the officials.
As a result of this ban, the excise department would now buy five Pothohar jeeps and 60 motorcycles for increasing the mobility of the staff that would help increase the revenue collection.
