Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Executive Committee Member Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi has welcomed the project of bus service between Peshawar-Jalalabad and Quetta-Kandhar. In a press release issued here on Wednesday, Sarhadi demanded amendment to the project to extend Peshawar-Jalalabad bus service to Kabul.
In the past, he said there was Afghan Mail Bus Service and a bus of the defunct former Government Transport Service (GTS) was running between Peshawar and Kabul.
He said the bus service would help promote friendly relations between both neighbouring countries, while on the other hand, the business community of both countries would also find a constant means of communication between the two states.
He also called for revival of the Afghan Mail Bus Service, saying the start of such a project between Pakistan and Afghanistan is a welcome step.
Sarhadi said that a two-day meeting of Pak-Afghan Joint Economic Commission is also scheduled in Kabul on July 23 and 24, and added that the Commission would not only amend Afghan Transit Trade Agreement, but also discuss bilateral trade.
He called for signing trade agreements to promote bilateral trade between the countries.-PR
