An important meeting of the officials of Pakistan Railways, Sheikhupura Dry Port Trust and Containers Terminal and Lahore Customs will be held at Railways Headquarters on Thursday to discuss various issues.
The meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Additional General Manager Pakistan Railways Ali Arif and will be attended by Additional General Manager Railways Mian Imtiazul Haq, Mian Muhammad Yousaf, Chairman Sheikhupura Dry Port Trust, Collector Customs, Lahore, Mehboob Saqib, Director Operational Centre, Ministry of Railway, Naseer Zaidi and others concerned.
Chairman Sheikhupura Dry Port Trust Mian Muhammad Yousaf had acquired on lease a piece of 30 acres of land for the proposed dry port and sought permission for the construction of the same. But the ministry of railways suggested to the government that the proposed dry port should be built on railways land and it should be considered as equity, according to a spokesman of the trust said here on Wednesday.
