A meeting of Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) City Co-ordination Committee was held at the KESC head office to review the progress of ongoing system improvement schemes carried out in June to upgrade the power supply system before the coming monsoon. The meeting was presided over by In-charge Distribution Jamil Gul Shaikh, stated a handout on Friday.
During the meeting, it was informed that during June, two new 11kv underground feeders were energised at Zaib-un-Nisa College and Jiwani Oil Mill North Karachi. Besides four new HT Links were also established and energised for flexibility in shifting the load at Khayaban-e-Seher, Korangi Telephone Exchange and Kabari Bazar.
Jamil Gul Shaikh informed the meeting that under the system improvement scheme, 30 new 250 KVA PMTs had been installed and energised at Khayaban-e-Hilal DHA Phase VII, Bhanwar Street Garden Ramshami, Baghe Ali, Gulshan-e-Akbar, Mohammad Ali Shaheed Society Malir, PIB Colony, Muslimabad, Allahabad Colony Sector 8-B, Awami Colony Korangi, Shanti Nagar Gulshan, North Nazimabad Block-A, Bungash Colony Nazimabad, Sector 11-G, 11-C2, 5-F, 11-F, 5-L North Karachi, Sector 7C Shadman Town, Liaquatabad No 4, Bandhani Colony, Memon Masjid F.B. Area Block-3, Al-Farooq Masjid F.B. Area Block-8, Hasan Noman Colony, Islam Nagar Sector-11 Korangi, Raja Tanveer Colony. Besides two new 500 KVA PMTs at Sadabad Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block-5 and a 150 KVA PMT at Ghous Pak Road Korangi have also been installed and energised.
The meeting was informed that "Rain Emergency Program" for the coming monsoon has already been prepared and circulated to all government functionaries.
Senior member Moulana Hanif appreciated the work so far done and expressed satisfaction over the implementation of system improvement schemes.
Chief Engineers Shabbir Solangi, Mohammad Shabbir, Anis Qureshi, Dy. Chief Engineers Amir Bux Memon, Syed Abid Hussain, G.R. Bhatti, A. H. Parchani, Superintendent Engineer Anis Ansari also attended the meeting.
