Discount Brazilian airline Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes is set to announce a multi-billion dollar order for Boeing Co aircraft on Monday, as the fast-growing carrier expands in Brazil and plans a new Mexican unit, a newspaper said on Sunday.
"I can only say that, commercially, we made a good deal," Gol Chief Executive Constantino Oliveira Junior said in Sunday's Estado De S. Paulo newspaper. He made the statements before travelling to Seattle to announce the contract on Monday, Estado said.
The report, citing unnamed sources, said the new deal would boost the size of Gol's order book with Boeing to about 100 planes and, at list prices, be worth $6 billion when firm orders and options are included.
