The Election Commission on Tuesday said the election proceedings for the seats of Nazim and Naib Nazim in Dandi Union Council have been rescheduled due to the death of a contestant.
It said the returning officer of the Dandi Union Council rescheduled the election proceedings of the Nazim and Naib Nazim seats under Rule 17 (1) of the NWFP Local Government Ordinance due to the death of a contesting candidate for the seat of Naib Nazim.It notified the new schedule according to which the polling would be held for these seats on August 25 and results would be declared on August 27.
Nomination papers would be issued on August 6 and would be received on August 8.
The Election Commission has set the date of August 11 for publication of notice of all the nomination papers and August 12 for filing objections by the voters.
Scrutiny of the nomination papers would be held on August 13 and appeals against acceptance/rejection of nomination papers would be held on August 15.
Disposal of appeals would be held on August 16 and withdrawal of candidature on August 17, while the list of contesting candidates would be published on August 18.
