Over a dozen representatives of ruling PML Lawyers Wing, Pattoki, along with Chaudhry Imran Ali Hashmat, Central Secretary Information of the wing, announced to join Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), at a crowded press conference here on Wednesday. Those who joined PPP, included Chaudhry Hamid Mehmood, Advocate, Malik Muhammad Ashfaq Khichee, Khalil Ahmad Khan and Shehbaz Ahmad Bhatti.
Addressing on the occasion, Chaudhry Imran Ali Hashmat said that they had decided to join PPP as they honestly felt that only PPP could resolve the problems, currently being faced by the country.
Qasim Zia, PPP, Punjab Chief, who was present on the occasion told media people that the way people were joining hands with his party indicated that masses had fed up with the present government and its policies.
"Musharraf government has lost the support of people," Zia said, and expressed the hope that the struggle of people for the restoration true democracy and 1973 Constitution would be succeeding soon and Benazir Bhutto will become Prime Minister.
PPL leader Naveed Chaudhry while lashing out at the government policies said that the present rulers were not sincere in holding the corrupt people accountable. "It is unfortunate that the government is hiding the names of all those corrupt nazims against whom National Accountability Bureau was holding inquires," he alleged. He, however, viewed that the government could use such cases of inquiries and investigations against these nazims for getting their support.
