The ministry of Information Technology has decided to launch IT awareness campaign in the federal capital to popularise of Information Technology. "The project has been finalised and will be sent to finance division for approval soon", a senior official in the ministry of information technology told Business Recorder here on Wednesday.
The official said that the project is aimed at creating awareness among masses, especially the youth of the remote areas of the federal capital, about the usage of computer in daily life.
In this regard, the official said the project would be launched in different rural areas including Bari Imam, Golra Sharif, Bara Kahu, Bahika Sydiaan and many other surroundings of Islamabad.
According to further details, special teams of IT professionals would visit the primary, secondary as well as higher secondary schools of the areas and deliver special lectures to the students.
"The ministry of education would also take part in the activity for the arrangement of special lectures for the students," official sources added.
The sources revealed that the ministry has already provided computers and access for the connectivity with Internet, but due to non-availability of the IT teachers, training was not yet being given to the students.
