Another two persons Haji Muhammad Ramazan, and Muhammad Naeem, died of Gastro-enteritis on Tuesday night in Multan. Now total Thirteen persons have died in six days in Multan division due to gastro-enteritis as the health authorities failed to combat this disease.
Now death toll raised to 65 in Southern Punjab while 6283 people mostly minor children and women affected in last 37 days. Health authorities failed to combat the epidemic. Now it out broke even in Lodhran, Rajanpur, Jhang, Thatta, Sadiqbad, Mailsi and adjacent areas. Of them 33 are in critical condition.
A four year old Saba of Lodhran, a housewife Shagufta of Khanewal died on July 25, Haleema Bibi and her infant son Ziyad of Jehanian, Mushtaq Ahmed of Multan and Shehla sister of Saba of Lodhran died on July 26, Salman and her sister Shahnaz of Thatta and Muhammad Salim (12) Sadiqabad died on July 27 and 28. Kalsoom Akhtar (15) and Shaikh Naseero died in Mailsi and Jehanian on July 29. Abdul Ghafoor of Multan on July 30, Muhammad Ramazan and Naeem on August 2n.
"Now toll rose to 65 in last 37 days due to gastro-enteritis, while number of patients increased to 6283 in different hospitals of Southern Punjab.
"At least 33 patients have so far been died in Multan while Seven in Dera Ghazi Khan, Six in Jehanian Five in Thatta Sadiqabad. Two each in Lodhran and Mailsi and 12 in Rahimyarkhan while more than 6114 were affected of gastro-enteritis during the last 35 days and we are trying to combat this disease by taking preventive measures."
