Wattan Party Punjab President Mumtaz Mehmood Khan has approached the Supreme Court of Pakistan praying for early hearing of his petition against Hasba Bill. The petitioner through his counsel Barrister Zafarullah Khan contended that reference of the government against Hasba Bill is being proceeded before a full bench of the apex court.
He contended that his petition should also be heard before the same full bench. He prayed to the court to direct the office to fix his petition before the same bench.
The petitioner in his main petition contended that the reference of the government is premature, as the bill has not yet become an act or law.
Plea for law colleges rejected
The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has rejected the applications of two educational institutions of Karachi and Peshawar, seeking permission for starting law colleges.
According to details, the PBC rejected the applications of Qurtaba University Peshawar and Urdu Arts and Science University Karachi.
The PBC rejected the application of Qurtaba University on the ground that they are not giving education up to set standards.
The PBC also rejected the application of Urdu Art and Science University Karachi on the ground that it issued affiliation letter to Al-Mezan College Rawalpindi illegally and without lawful authority.
