CIT holds additional charge of LTPU director general

A BS-20 officer of Income Tax Group, Malik Bashir Ahmed, presently posted as Commissioner Income Tax (Audit) Large Tax Payers Unit Karachi has been allowed to look after the work of Director General LTPU in addition to his own duties with effect from August 1, according to a CBR notification.
Earlier, Malik Bashir worked as Commissioner Enforcement and also worked in Pakistan's biggest Company Zone-I for 4 years.
As Commissioner Income Tax, Malik Bashir settled 460 cases of income tax during the period from February to June 2005, which is higher by 80 percent as compared to last year.
While disposing of these cases, Rs 12 billion taxes were levied, out of which over Rs 6 billion were recovered.
