So many tanks to Shaukat Aziz, the Prime Minister, who graciously enhanced the rate of profit by 0.96 % effective from 1st July, 2005 on Behbood Savings Certificates under the scheme envisaged for the welfare of families of senior citizens, pensioners and widows.
The beneficiaries of the scheme on contact to National Savings Centres for claiming the enhanced amount of this profit rate on their existing amounts of investments have been perturbed to learn that the facility of the enhanced rate of 0.96% will be available to tern after recovery of 1% penalty on the amount of their existing investments.
In order to make the enhancement in the rate of profit materialise and given in the true spirit of allowing an incentive to the beneficiaries, I would earnestly request the Prime Minister to kindly solicit his orders for waiver of penalty.
