Tariq Kirmani, chairman PIA and CEO, Pakistan International Airlines, addressed a batch of 68 internees at the completion of their seven-week internship-training programme, at PIA Head Office.
Speaking on the occasion the chairman said that the main purpose of his meeting with the internees was to have a direct interaction with them to make the process of internship more meaningful, rewarding and mutually useful for both the internees and the organisation.
Throwing light on the working of Pakistan International Airlines, he said the Corporation has certain strengths as well as weaknesses. The management, he said "is striving hard to overcome the weaknesses and turn them into strengths." To create an environment of progressive thinking and vision to excel in the aviation industry, he said the management is open to suggestions.
He said: "The process of internship is a two-way process where the students learn professional expertise while the organisation benefits from their research work as well as their market analysis."
Kirmani said that he would like to welcome more internees into PIA in the future and would make their programme more conducive and productive.-PR
