An exquisite exhibition of Wood Inlay Art called 'Marquetry' by Abdul Rasheed Khan was held at Arts Council of Pakistan here on Saturday. Sindh CM's Adviser on information Salahuddin Haider performed the inauguration of the exhibition in which 33 art pieces, showing delicate woodwork, were put on display.
Talking to journalists on the occasion, the adviser said the government should patronise and support the artists whose work is the only way to preserve and promote the art and culture of the country.
He said steps are under way to create an Endowment Fund for the welfare and support of the artists and promotion of stage and drama.
Artist Abdul Rasheed Khan has incorporated the formal language of landscape paintings compositions based on miniature painting portraiture and calligraphy in his work. The people, including artists, art-lovers youth, and families visited the exhibition.
