The Karachi Port handled 180,348 tonnes of cargo including 152,963 tonnes import and 27,385 tonnes export cargo including 2,387 containers during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The cargo comprised of 89,580 tonnes dry cargo including 46,724 tonnes general cargo; 21,307 fertiliser; 18,011 tonnes scrap; 4,038 tonnes rock phosphate and 90,768 tonnes oil/Liquid cargo.
Seven ships namely Sagamore, Precious, Cma Cgm Karibu, Maersk Alaska, Kardaran Star, Chitral and Pacific Ace sailed out to sea during the report period.
Five vessels viz Maersk Alaska, MT Shalamar, Itha Bhum, Thor Captain and United Prosperity are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely United Prosperity and Itha Bhum expected to sail on Monday.
Three vessels viz Kota Mesra, Hanjin Busan and Darya Gyan due to arrive on Monday, while eight ships namely Hannibal-II, Apl Jeddah, Monoxylion, Bunga Delima, Jat Na Mu, Phoros, Elbe Oldendroff and Bunglar Urmi are due to arrive on Tuesday.
The cargo comprised of 37,766 tonnes diesel oil; 3,200 tonnes edible oil; 2,500 tonnes chemicals and 39,950 tonnes containerised cargo.
Two ships namely Sinar Sabang and Bow Fertility sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while three ships namely MT Anette Kosan, MSC Mexico and P&O Nedlloyd Los Angles are expected to sail on Monday.
A total of two vessels viz Maersk Alaska and Denderah Rickmers are currently at the outer anchorage.
Two ships namely Maersk Alaska and Ville De Mars due to take berths on Monday.
