Callmate TELIPS Telecom Ltd is a public limited company listed at the Karachi Stock Exchange and is the pioneer in the Payphones and Prepaid Calling Card industries in Pakistan. CT Telecom was formed subsequent to the merger between CallTel (Private) Limited and Telefon International Project Services (Private) Limited (TELIPS) on 11th November 2003.
TELIPS was established on November 21, 1991 in Karachi to install and operate Card Payphones under the license agreement with the Government of Pakistan. TELIPS is the pioneer of the card payphones sector in Pakistan, with 13 years of operations in the industry. CallTel (Pvt) Ltd, was formed in 1999 with an aim of providing Pre-Paid Calling Card Facilities.
Its own extensive distribution network consisting of staff strength of more than 600 spreads across 31 branch set ups in Pakistan. Callmate Calling Card is the market leader among all private calling card operators.
In the recent de-regulation of the Telecom Industry, CT Telecom became the first Long Distance and International (LDI) Operator in Pakistan's history, enabling it to terminate inbound traffic along further servicing towards originating traffic for long distance with the new cost effective LDI platform.
The formal award of the license took place on 12th of July 2004, when the Company was issued the first ever LDI License, thus bringing an end to the telecom monopoly in Pakistan.
Out of a diverse telecommunication portfolio of Callmate TELIPS, we are aggressively focusing the inbound and outbound traffic chapter of our services for both termination and origination purposes, respectively. We are also proud to have achieved to milestone of becoming the first LDI Operator to have launched its commercial operations in Pakistan.
With over 15 years of rich exposure to Pakistan's telcom atmosphere with a pioneering role in payphones and calling card market we are confident to set new standards of excellence as a independent telecom operator.
We have, in a short span of not more than 12 months from our LDI service launch, engaged the largest number of foreign carriers for whom we terminate traffic. With quality as our constant hallmark and providing economy to the ultimate users as our business philosophy, we have till date initiated various interconnect agreements with leading telecom companies including AT&T, TELECOM ITALIA, SINGTEL, IBASIS, NET 2 PHONE and TELEGLOBE.
Our unique portfolio, in terms of our presence through 14 distinct Point of presence's (Pops) across the country, has enabled us to remain at the forefront amongst other Pakistani operators and carriers.
This presence has given us the technical edge of providing uninterrupted traffic flow due to the dedicated circuiting and widespread infrastructure availability across the country.
