Pakistan has bought 50,000 tonnes of Russian wheat, the third cargo since the government approved duty-free imports of the grain last month, traders said on Monday. The deal was sealed at around 140 dollars a ton, including cost and freight, for September shipment.
The first contract, also for Russian wheat, was sealed last month at around 156-158 dollars a ton for August shipment. The second cargo was finalised from the same origin at 145 dollars a ton for September shipment.
"These are the only three cargoes Pakistan has bought after the rules were liberalised," said one Karachi-based trader.
