The rule of law, justice and equal opportunities to every citizen was the basis for creation of Pakistan and people have sacrificed a lot to achieve this homeland. Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Chief Organiser and Planning Commission of Pakistan's former Deputy Chairman Ahsan Iqbal said here on Monday, while addressing Naunihal Assembly (a gathering of children) at Hamdard Auditorium.
The assembly is regular monthly features of the Hamdard Foundation with an aim to give children awareness about the affairs of the country. Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan was rich in natural and human resources, besides huge reserves of minerals and energy, adding the country had huge force of scientists, engineers, doctors and educationists who could guide the country towards new horizons.
"Once we utilise these resources in a proper way and give scientists and engineers their due place in the society, we would attain a graceful place in community of nations", he added.
It was imperative to bring Pakistan at par with the developed countries and attain glory in the field of science and technology by bringing better, qualified and dedicated people forward, said Ahsan Iqbal, who was the chief co-ordinator of the "Pakistan Vision-2010" programme of previous Nawaz Sharif government.
Ahsan Iqbal impressed upon children taking part in the Hamdard Assembly to play their role to materialise the wishes and aspiration of the founding fathers of Pakistan. "We have huge responsibility to take Pakistan at a place in the world where these founding fathers were eager to look this nation", he added.
The dialogue with those young children was source to charge the emotions besides renewing the faith, Ahsan Iqbal said, adding children were future of the nation and it was moral obligation of every individual to work hard for character building of those innocent children.
Besides Ahsan Iqbal, Naunihal Assembly was addressed by intellectuals, educationists and social workers.
