Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved Rs 13 million for purchasing 12 new vehicles to improve its efficiency. "The CDA board has approved the sum during a high level meeting held under the chairmanship of Kamran Lashari. The vehicles would be handed over to the Enforcement Directorate," official sources told Business Recorder here on Tuesday.
The sources said that at least 30 vehicles have already been handed over to the Enforcement Directorate to remove encroachments from the city. Sources revealed that civic body would spend Rs 13 million on purchase of Pick-ups, tractors and trucks.
"Beside the co-operation of District Municipal Administration (DMA), Enforcement Directorate has failed in launching effective anti-encroachment operation in the city," sources added.
It is pertinent to mention here the civic body impounded huge quantity of goods during anti-encroachment operation in I-10 Markaz besides levelling illegal construction in I-8/1 few days back.
