US stocks rose on Tuesday for the first time in three days, as investors bet the Federal Reserve will increase interest rates by an expected quarter percentage point and tech bellwether Cisco Systems Inc would report strong earnings.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 73 points, or 0.70 percent, at 10,610.10. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 8 points, or 0.65 percent, at 1,231.05 and the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 11.29 points, or 0.52 percent, at 2,175.68.
