About 9,000 cards have been issued to various monitoring teams for ensuring effective monitoring of the forthcoming local government polls. Secretary Elections Commission of Pakistan Kunwar Muhammad Dilshad told PTV on Wednesday that Commonwealth (CW) observers' team has already arrived here.
Full powers have been delegated to district returning officers to foil any attempt of malpractice. On proving victimisation allegations the station house officer (SHO) of the respective area would be suspended immediately, he said.
Till now a number of transfers (orders issued after July 1), including 35 from NWFP, 30 from Sindh, three from Balochistan and a few from Punjab have been made void, he said.
1.5 million new voters have been added during the period from August 2004 to June this year, he added.
