First water purification plant, installed by District Government Hyderabad with the collaboration of RCC Consultants and So-Safe Water Technologies at Fort area was inaugurated by Waseem Akhtar, Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister for Local Government, on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Waseem Akhtar said 20 such units would be installed in various parts of the city to ensure supply of potable water to the people on temporary basis, till the mega projects are completed.
He directed the officers concerned to keep these units functional with proper maintenance
Earlier, the District Co-ordinator Officer speaking on the occasion said ten such plants would be installed in Hyderabad within one-month period, while survey for identification of sites for remaining ten plants was in progress.
He said that efforts were being made to install these units at such places where the people were facing hardship in getting purified water. Giving the technical details, the DCO said that the inaugurated unit has capacity to supply 6000 gallons filtered water within 12 hours and it will be made operational in between 6 am to 10 pm with required rest of two hours.
The Hyderabad Development Authority director general, the Water and Sanitation Authority managing director and other district and provincial-level officers were also present at the ceremony.
